Cardiff’s commercial property sector gets on its bike for charity

Members of Cardiff’s commercial property sector will be displaying their pedal power when they take part in the annual Hayride on 20 September to raise money for charities local charities. The annual ride, now in its eleventh year has raised over 65,000 for charities including the George Thomas Hospice, Paratet, Noah’s Ark Appeal (Children Hospital for Wales), Barnados, NCH, The Deri View Primary School, Latch, Pontypridd Children’s Contact Centre, Wooden Spoon Society and The Joshua Foundation.
Organisers’ King Sturge is encouraging last minute volunteers to get on their bikes to make this year’s Hayride the best ever. The inaugural event in 1999 was completed by 10 riders but in 2008 the numbers had swelled to over 50.
Volunteers for the 66 miles ‘downhill’ dash via Three Cocks, Talgarth, Langorse, Bwlch, Talybont, Torpantau, Pontsticill, Merthyr, Aberfan, Abercynon, Pontypridd, Treforest, Taffs Well, Morganstown and along the Taff Trail into Cardiff should contact Huw Thomas of the Cardiff office on 02920 726004 or e mail on huw.thomas@kingsturge.com.
This year the charities will be Childrens Tumour Foundation www.ctf.org and Action for Children www.actionforchildren.org.uk .
