MSS GROUP ENTERS SUNDAY TIMES VIRGIN FAST TRACK 100
Cardiff based MSS Group has achieved a place in the 2009 Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100. The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 league table ranks Britain's 100 fastest-growing private companies, based on sales growth over 3 years.
MSS Group was founded by directors Bill Mayne (chief executive), Jonathan Jones, Jamie Davies and Robert Little in 2005, with its services ranging from industrial cleaning to asbestos testing in school and hospitals. For its financial year to the end of March, it posted sales of £7.36m – having grown on average 63% from 2006 when it reported revenues of £1.7m.
MSS, which employs 287, has among its clients Superdrug, Thistle Hotels and gas supplier South Hook LNG in Pembrokeshire.
Businessman Sir Richard Branson said: “The last year has been one of the toughest I remember in business; but the fear of the early part of 2009 has been replaced by optimism we will find a way through. “This sense of optimism is reflected in the sterling performance of the Fast Track 100 companies who are expecting impressive continued growth this year.”
MSS Group was also crowned earlier this year as Wales’ fastest growing business in the highly competitive, business to business service category at this year’s Fast Growth Fifty awards ceremony for the second year running.
The founder of the awards, Professor Dylan Jones-Evans said "The MSS Group demonstrates the best of Welsh business and, as the fastest growing firm in the business to business sector, is driving forward innovations in this critical sector. Like all the FG50 winners this year, they have made an amazing contribution to the Welsh economy and one that should be applauded by everyone across Wales”.
